Mixed-up Days

"Then comes a Mixed-Up Day. And WHAM! I don't know who or what I am! But it all turns out all right, you see. And I go back to being...me." Dr. Seuss, My Many Colored Days

Mats for independent math flash card practice. It’s funny…you’d think that more kids would “cheat” and put all the cards on green (and some do, for sure) but most first graders are surprisingly strict with themselves. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had students ask to show me the pile of cards that they are still practicing, with great pride. And that’s nothing compared to how proud they are when they get to move a card to yellow or green!
